Panama

I know it has been awhile since my last Blog posting so I thought I would put something together to give you an idea what I will be enjoying down here in a couple of months.

Things have been slow here, which is great. I spent a couple of days in San Salvador and enjoyed exploring the city in locations where I have not visited before. There are 4 shopping malls and as you walk through and see the shops and restaurants you would think you are visiting an expensive mall in America. No, I didn't go shopping unless you include the time I went looking for batteries to replace on my boat.

A couple of cruisers are returning from a trip inland  to Nicaragua, Honduras and Costa Rica. I am going to spend some time with them over a beer to copy their route and do the same. I will take buses which are very comfortable unlike the Greyhound buses back home. Hotels are inexpensive and the sights are great.

Time is moving along fast and it will not be long before I again push-off for the sea and head down to Panama. I took a few photos from my cruising guide of some of the islands I will be visiting on the Pacific side of Panama before I go through the Canal. If this is not paradise, I don't know what is. I wish you were able to enjoy them with me but I would have to get a bigger boat to hold everyone.

Here is yet another example of a cabs down here. Two other cruisers and I drove back to Mexico to renew our visas for Central America. Vicki, who is riding in the cab was headed back to Canada for the summer.

Here are  three photos of the islands I will be anchoring off of. Imagine for a moment of you sitting in the cockpit of the boat, early in the morning as you enjoy the scenery over a cup of coffee or in the late afternoon watching the sun set while have a glass of your favorite drink.

Well that is all for now. Sorry for the short blog but there is little new that I could add. I will share my trip inland with you after I return.

Until there be safe out there.
